SDCC 2026
Where we'll be in SD!
Hey everyone!
Kyle here, coming to you on San Diego Comic Con Eve in between some last minute script revisions, packing, and meetings before we embark on our yearly pilgrimage to the convention of conventions.
San Diego is equal parts chaos and tranquility for me. I’ve been attending the show since 2008 and I don’t think I’ve missed one yet. Over the years, I’ve figured out my preferred way to do the show, maximizing my time with people I want to see without totally burning myself out. And with the time capsule nature of the signage, the hangouts, the restaurants, the people, it all has a serene quality for me. Even the crowds.
The first time I ever attended SDCC was the same show where I first met editors and pros on the heels of my superhero film, The League, and an invitation to pitch at Marvel. I’ve had more big moments in my career— good and bad— at San Diego and now, it brings me so much joy to be able to add another year to the time capsule that feels more like an institution of my life.
Unfortunately, one thing that has changed since my knee surgeries, is that I have to be a bit more mindful of how much back and forth I do at the show. At a certain point in the day, my leg will just give up and then everything gets really painful. It’s going to happen sooner or later at SDCC, but I try to hold it off as long as I can. This year will be particularly interesting, as I’m slated to go in for another surgery one week after the show. So, the leg isn’t in amazing shape at the moment. But, I think we can get it to hold up for one more week!
…this may also just mean taking more meetings by the pool.
SDCC
It’s a fun mix of signings and panels for me this year. We’ll talk about the Massive-Verse panel in a minute, but first I want to call out two other panels I’ll be a part of. First up is How to Stay in the Game on Thursday at 5:30PM in room 24ABC.
I’m really excited for this one. This was originally Kelly’s idea and I think the group assembled is a really great collection of creators who are doing things inside and outside the box across disciplines. I think it’s going to be a really great discussion about creating in the modern age. Cherish, in particular, I can’t wait to talk to. She’s doing some really exciting things with bringing filmmakers out of the YouTube world into theaters.
Then, on Sunday, I’ll also be joining the guys at Impound Comics for their panel about Building a Universe. This will be at 12PM in room 11.
On the signings front, I’ll be bouncing around the show this year, signing at three different locations. That includes signing at DC and Image, which you can find on the graphic above.
But the main ones I want to call out are my signings at the Comic Sketch Art booth on Friday from 4:30-6:30PM and Saturday from 11AM-1:PM.
If you’re coming to the convention and you plan on picking up a Radiant Black Funko from the Funko booth, these are the signings you’ll want to swing by where I’ll be offering a blacklight signature and remarque. We’re still figuring out what we’re pricing this at, but we’ll have it sorted and posted at the signing.
The other big thing at the show this year is our Massive-Verse panel!
It looks like it’s going to be just me this year as Ryan had some last minute obligations that are keeping him from SDCC. But! I’m bringing all sorts of fun news and surprises!
Hope to see you there!
A Funko Update
We’ve been getting a lot of questions from people wondering if the Radiant Black Funko will be available at all outside of SDCC. We finally got a bit of news on that front and the good news is that the answer is yes, but the bad news is that the rest of the answer is kind of.
Basically, Funko is going to offer some of these Radiant Black Funkos by way of a drawing. You can enter the drawing until July 22 at 11:59PM PST. After that, Funko will pick a certain number of entries and offer them the opportunity to purchase the figure.
You can enter the drawing right here:
Outside of the drawing or being in person at SDCC, there might be a chance to purchase left over figures online…if there are any left over figures and if Funko offers them, after SDCC. I’m honestly not sure how likely that is though so if you’re interested in trying to get one of these and not pay an arm and a leg on the secondary market, I definitely recommend entering the drawing!
Radiant Black: The Audiobook
Now that Radiant Black: The Audiobook is available on (most) major audiobook platforms, we’ve started our promotional push across social, YouTube and TikTok. That’s made for some really fun trailers and promos with Will and Rider. I thought I’d share a few of them right here.
Teen Titans Next Level
We’ve got a lot of fun things happening on the Massive-Verse side at SDCC this week but I’d be remiss if I didn’t also mention Teen Titans. It’s always funny when you have a big convention just before the new book comes out, it means that there’s a lot of press and questions but you still can’t quite talk about the book the way you want to and can once it’s hit shelves.
That said, I am doing some fun stuff tied to Teen Titans and the larger DC Next Level initiative, including a panel!
DC's Next Level
Friday July 24, 2026 12:30pm – 1:30pm PDT Room 6DE
DC storytellers explore the Next Level publishing initiative with announcements, fresh looks, and new details from across the DC Universe. Featuring Joshua Williamson (Legion of Super-Heroes), Hayden Sherman (Legion of Super-Heroes), Kyle Higgins (Teen Titans), Michael Walsh, Gerry Duggan (Next Level: One-Shot), and others. Moderated by Brittany Holzherr (senior editor, DC) and Andrew Marino (senior editor, DC).
I’m not sure what Brittany is planning on showing off here, but I’m sure there will be new art. And honestly, she’s got a ton to choose from. Daniele and Marcelo continue to blow me away every day with new pages that are among some of the best comics art that I’ve ever been a part of.
I’ll also be doing a Next Level signing with them on Friday from 3-4PM at the DC booth.
