This is one of the few stories that I've read and it stuck with me. I asked Zach what inspired the story and he said it's actually about the ignorance and destruction of comics through the 1950's Comics Code Authority. If I remember right it basically strangled books and their reach towards kids because a few adults didn't understand.. but I could be off there.

That's exactly right! Every decade there's a moral panic and I wanted to write a story where I specifically recreated the feeling of the 1950s horror comics moral panic. It's something that I'm quite passionate about so I'm glad it stuck with you!

This is great! Could we also get a non-vertical scroll version of the comics like this that were designed for traditional pages? I hate seeing that panel with the kid in algebra class get chopped up like that.
